Bio
“Flight Attendant delivers an experience.” – Rolling Stone Magazine
Hailed as a “sonic unicorn” in Nashville’s thriving music scene, Flight Attendant has built a reputation for delivering infectious power-pop hooks, cinematic soundscapes, and unforgettable live performances. This Nashville-based quintet—Karalyne Winegarner (Lead Vocals, Keys), Vincent Maniscalco (Vocals, Guitar), Nikki Christie (Vocals, Viola), Derek Sprague (Drums), and Peyton Rodeffer (Vocals, Bass)—blends their diverse musical influences into a sound that is as bold as it is distinctive.
The band’s origins were serendipitous. Karalyne Winegarner, a certified sommelier from Kansas City and a drummer and singer in her own band, met Vincent Maniscalco, an award-winning bartender from Boston and guitar player, while they were bartending together in Nashville. Being it Music City, it wasn’t long before a new band was formed: Flight Attendant (named after Maniscalco’s mom—an actual flight attendant). They were soon joined by viola player, actress, and co-worker Nikki Christie from Los Angeles, followed by fellow bartenders Derek Sprague, also from Boston, on drums, and finally Peyton Rodeffer from Indiana on bass. All songwriters and musicians in their own right, the music came quickly—along with their first album in 2022.
Together, with a solidified lineup, Flight Attendant has embarked on a creative journey that has taken them from intimate stages to sold-out shows and major festivals, including SXSW, Boulevardia, Tomato Art Fest, and Crossroads Music Fest.
Their sophomore album, Under The Powerlines, produced by Swedish collaborator Anders Fleming, was released on November 15, 2024, to critical acclaim. Praised by Mundane Magazine as “something adjacent to Radiohead’s OK Computer with a twist of modern pop,” the album showcases Flight Attendant’s ability to weave intricate, atmospheric arrangements with undeniable hooks. Featuring standout tracks like “Therapy Couch,” which has gained major radio traction, and fan-favorite singles “Powerlines” and “1987 Prom Queen,” the album captures the band’s dynamic range and artistic evolution.
Drawing inspiration from artists like Florence + The Machine, Caroline Polachek, The Killers, and Cage The Elephant, Flight Attendant crafts alternative-pop music that is as compelling as it is unique.
Glide Magazine praises lead singer Karalyne Winegarner’s commanding presence, likening her to “Freddie Mercury working the crowd in an arena.”
Having just wrapped a headlining Spring 2025 tour across five countries with sold-out club shows in Boston, Frankfurt, Berlin, and more, Flight Attendant continues to make moves. The band has 2 singles and an EP slated for 2025 release, headlining shows from Boston to LA this summer and another international tour in the works for 2026.
Flight Attendant isn’t just a band—they’re an experience. From their captivating sound to their electrifying live shows, it’s time to put your tray tables up and prepare for takeoff.
